New Austrailian Champion Smooth Collie
dakmanau: Gidday It is with great pleasure and on behalf of David Knox and Myself, we are so pleased to announce that as of yesterday (Saturday) 9th October, we have a new Australian Champion Smooth and the first Sandcastles Champion in the Southern Hemisphere. (Pending ANKC) - "Visa" will now be known as Aust Ch Sandcastles Trust Money (Imp Fin) owned by Knox/ Goodman. Visa was handled to his Aust championship title by the very talented and amazing Mrs Naomi Jeffrey of Seaview Smooth Collies in South Australia. Visa needed only 1 point to title, he gained his championship at the Southern Agricultural Society Show in South Australia under Judge Miss J Pike ( S.A). Visa is the son of the late Intl Ch Sandcastles Truth of Dare x Intl Ch Sandcastles Sweet Valentine who was World Winner 2008, BOB and Group 3rd. RasmusFleischer: Both parents of your bitch are Smooths but carriers of the "long hair" gene. That means that they have produced both Smooth and Rough puppies. If your bitch has longer hair than normal in a Smooth, she is definitely a Rough Collie since she is genetically homozygous for the long hair gene. If you want to be sure of her genetical status, there is a genetest which can tell you if your bitch is long hair homozygous or if she is a long hair carrier Smooth (we call "Rough factored").
